SGC 110 Constant Temperature Chamber

The SGC 110 Constant Temperature Chamber is a steady state testing product with a temperature range of -2°C through to +50°C. The design and capabilities of this chamber make it ideal for conditioning applications. The quality of construction and durability with which Weiss Gallenkamp has become synonymous is evident throughout, with a corrosion resistant stainless steel interior and painted protected steel exterior. In its

standard guise the SGC 110 Constant Temperature Chamber comes fitted with 10 wire shelves giving a significant growing area of 4.5m2, and is ideally, although not exclusively, suited to the following sectors:

  • Packaging
  • Electronics
  • Steady state product testing
  • Conditioning applications
  • Automotive components

Key features of the SGC 110 include flexibility and versatility. The chamber can be built upon with a number of features such as additional lighting, shelving and humidity enabling it to be used for a wide variety of applications such as Plant Growth, Arabidopsis, Seed Storage, Insect Incubation and Tissue Culture.

Seed Storage Chamber

The SGC 110 Seed Storage Chamber combines user friendliness and cost effectiveness with unequalled reliability and durability. Perfect for simulating the cool, dry conditions associated with long term seed storage, the SGC 110 is supplied with 10 shelves giving a growing area of 4.5m 2 . Temperature is adjustable between 4°C to +35°C emphasising the

versatility of the unit. An air drying system is provided to remove humidity to a level of 15% R.H. at 4°C. The SGC 110 offers a 'future proof' solution with outstanding control performance to cope with changing demands of seed storage. The SGC 110 offers an affordable solution with outstanding control performance and reassurance of the integrity of the results of testing.

Features:

  • Standard shelving - 10 wire shelves giving a growing area of 4.5m 2
  • Additional shelving available giving up to an extra 2.6m 2
  • Optional humidity 15% R.H. @ 4°C

Tissue Culture Chamber

Building upon the foundations of the SGC 110 is the Tissue Culture Chamber. This includes a second set point timer enabling a second temperature to be simulated throughout a 24 hour cycle. Also available with this variant is a shelving & lighting system which offers users the option of having one, two, three or five shelves and ten, five, three or two bulbs per shelf respectively.

The temperature range is from -2°C to 50°C with the lights off and 10°C to 35°C with the lights on.

Features:

  • Standard shelving gives 2.6m 2 area
  • Interchangeable lamps including UV
  • Shelf lighting individually controllable
  • Additional shelving available giving up to 3.25m 2

Plant Growth Chamber

Available with a range of shelving and lighting options, the SGC 110 can provide a shelf space of 3.25m2. Lighting can also be altered to suit individual requirements, ranging from 550 mmol m2 s-1 for large plant studies, to 100 mmol m2 s-1 for tissue culture applications emphasising the versatility of the unit. An optional humidifier capable of providing up to 80% relative humidity is also available, further widening the range of

capabilities that the SGC 110 can provide. Lighting in the SGC 110 Plant Growth Chamber is available in a number of options, as is the shelving. The lighting on each shelf is controllable by the user giving an impressive array of options.

Arabidopsis Chamber

Providing the space for growing Arabidopsis to maturity under controllable light, temperature and humidity conditions, the SGC 110 is available with a range of shelving and lighting options. The standard shelving configuration provides a growing area of 1.9m2 and lighting can be altered to suit individual requirements. Additional illuminated shelf units can be added by users to provide additional growth area as required. The chamber easily provides enough space for growing plants to maturity under optimised controlled temperature, light and humidity conditions. The design allows researchers to access and make measurements of small leaves that are tightly bunched together - measurements that were previously difficult, if not impossible to make.

The SGC 110 offers a 'future-proof' solution to cope with the changing demands of Arabidopsis research with outstanding control. The temperature is adjustable between

-2°C to 50°C (10°C to +35°C with full lighting) and an optional humidifier capable of providing up to 80% relative humidity is also available.

Insect Incubation Chamber

The SGC110 Insect Incubation Chamber provides a solution to Entomologists' needs to study and store Drosophila, Bees and any other insects within a controllable environment.

Features:

  • • Individually controllable high frequency 'insect friendly' high frequency shelf lighting which minimizes the effects of stroboscopic stress on insects. Lighting is distributed uniformly across the shelves and individually controllable for each shelf, variable from an intensity of 10% to 100%
  • • Flexible shelving options (up to 5 shelves) providing up to 5.6 m² working area
  • • Excellent temperature uniformity of ± 0.3°C
  • • Wide temperature range: 0°C to +50°C with lights off and +10°C to 35°C with the lights on
  • • Optional humidifier capable of producing up to 80% R.H. is also available, as is a carbon filter in the airflow to control odour emissions
  • • Excellent space efficiency; minimal footprint size
