UVIchemi dedicated chemiluminescence imaging system
The UVIchemi system has been developed exclusively for users who require a dedicated chemiluminescence documentation system. Unlike most systems that have been designed primarily for fluorescence documentation and adapted for chemiluminescence, the UVIchemi system has been created around the specific needs of chemiluminescence documentation and analysis.
UVIchemi is a state of the art dedicated chemiluminescence imaging system, designed for users who demand the very highest sensitivity and performance. The superb, scientific garde CCD camera, with REAL 12-bit dynamic range, megapixel resolution and exceptionally low noise means that the UVIchemi can detect samples when other high specification imaging systems can not. Long exposures without loss of image quality are made possible by the unique two-tier cooling system that keeps background noise to a minimum. The top quality fixed focal length lens ensures razor sharp image resolution at all times. The UVIchemi darkroom cabinet has a sample tray with 6 vertical positions and is precision made with a special door locking mechanism to eliminate light leakage. Samples up to a maximum size of 22 x 18 cm. can be accommodated on the sample tray.
Features:
- CCD chip cooled to -45°C below ambient
- Fully enclosed camera housing with its own unique additional cooling system (improves camera efficiency in laboratories with high ambient temperatures)
- Class leading, high sensitivity, 12-bit digital camera with 3-stage Peltier cooling
- Overhead LED lighting for easy positioning of the sample
- Image acquisition using UVIchemi software via FireWire interface
- Optional digital thermal printer for superior quality prints
- Optional UVIBnad analysis software allows for accurate quantification of samples and much more
Performance:
- The UVIchemi system provides users with exceptional high end performance using all major types of chemiluminescent substrates including ECL, ECL-PLUS, CSPD, CDP & CDP-STAR, SYBR, SuperSignal and SuperSignal Ultra. The high sensitivity CCD camera permits exposure times from 0.1 seconds up to 120 minutes
- The UVIchemi outperforms its nearest competitors in two ways:
The greater camera sensitivity results in greatly reduced exposure times
The extremely low noise level enables very long exposure times when necessary without the loss of image quality
Camera: High sensitivity 12-bit, progressive scan, Grade 0 (0 defect) CCD sensor
(FireWire)
Resolution: 1280H x 1024V effective pixels. Pixel size 6.7μm x 6.7 μm
640H x 512V pixels in 2 x 2 binning mode. Pixel size 13.4μm x 13.4μm
Quantum efficiency: 70% at 450nm.
Cooling: -45°C below ambient by a 3-stage Peltier device. Extra Peltier device to cool
camera housing.
Lens: Schneider fixed focal length (F: 0.95) manual lens for optimum light collection
Darkroom: DNT-6000 cabinet with 6 position adjustable sample tray system. Maximum sample size 21 x 18 cm.
Software: UVIsoft acquisition software facilitates simple and rapid optimization of images when long exposures are necessary. Automatic exposure mode makes it possible to acquire fully optimized images of the very faintest samples at the push of a button. Varying levels of user sontrol over the image acquisition process are offered by the semi-automatic and manual exposure modes. Acquisition parameters can be saved in configuration files for future use and are automatically saved with each image in a secure GLP file. The attractive software interface features large colour coded buttons and self-evident icon designs to minimize the user learning curve.
- Easy to use with Windows® XP style software interface
- Automatic exposure control mode automatically calculates the exposure time so that the image can be captured in one simple ‘click’
- Manual Exposure mode allows the user to set their own exposure time from 0.1 seconds up to 120 minutes
- Test Function detects when the signal produced by the chemiluminescent reaction is intense enough for an exposure to be made
- Video mode for sequential capture enables the user to monitor the progress of the chemiluminescent reaction by taking a series of exposures at user defined intervals
- Annotation function allows text as well as the date and time to be added to the image
- Positive / Negative button allows viewing an ‘inverted’ image
- Live mode enables easy positioning of the sample
- Save individual user settings
- Image saturation monitor
- GLP file automatically saved with each image
- Temperature control indicator helps to ensure that the camera is always at the correct operating temperature
