October 2010 - 5 Megapixel Digital Microscope Eyepiece
Record images from any microscope without the hassles of connecting a digital camera
New 5 megapixel digital microscope eyepiece which enables the user to view and save an image from any microscope directly onto a PC / laptop. The benefits of the digital microscope eyepiece versus digital cameras are as follows:
- No need for a trinocular head on the microscope as the digital microscope eyepiece can be used with monocular, binocular as well as trinocular microscopes
- No expensive connections to purchase to fit a digital camera to a particular brand of microscope as the digital microscope eyepiece will fit into any standard 23 mm. or 30 mm. diameter eyepiece tube and then connects via supplied USB 2.0 cable to a PC / laptop
- Can be used with biological, stereo zoom / dissecting, inverted or fluorescent microscopes
- Great for researchers and students alike as easier to see and show features to others on a screen rather than looking down eyepiece
- Flexible and mobile as can be moved from microscope to microscope in same laboratory or different locations (room, department, institution or country)
- Simply focus your sample and remove one of the eyepiece tubes, insert the digital microscope eyepiece (or insert in phototube of trinocular head microscope) and connect it to the PC / laptop (previously loaded with the comprehensive Windows compatible software supplied). Open the software and the image is displayed in real time on the screen and changes as the sample is moved or re-focused. If you like the image (default as auto-exposure and auto-colour) then save it or adjust any of the parameters until the image is as you want it
- The software can record a single image, series of time lapse images or a video
- Once saved the file can be opened in the image application of your choice (PhotoShop, ImageJ, etc.)
- Inexpensive as only £575 (excluding V.A.T.) for 5 megapixel model (cat. number CB/BUC2-500C and also available as 1.3 and 3.2 megapixel models) which includes software, USB cable and 30 mm. diameter adaptor and software which can be loaded onto several PC's / laptops if required
