Leaching Test / Jar Test

In primary and waste waters treatments, the choice and dosage of chemical coagulants aimed at removing suspended matter and pollutants are derived from the results of laboratory evaluations by the so called Jar Test. Multiple stirrers, with reproducible speed, allow to establish standard conditions for the test, that is the basic requirement for reliable results. Considering the variability of waters, the test must be repeated with a frequency related to specific situations.

Velp has three models available for leaching test / jar test:

• Jar Test to optimise the addition of coagulants in waste water treatment plants, improving the separation of settling solids.
• Leachability Test on toxic substances from wastes to be sent to dump, by diluted acetic acid or carbon dioxide saturated water.
