A cost effective unit designed for use in low hazard laboratories such as schools and colleges, the Graduate is available for bench mounting onto existing furniture, or free-standing fitted with an integral steel support unit.

Isolation cubicles

In addition to its other products, Progen also designs and manufactures high performance isolation cabinets. Like the fume cupboards, these units are hard-wearing and have a low energy requirement, and consequently, they operate effectively without incurring high maintenance or running costs.

Capable of being installed rapidly in either new or existing buildings, they enable effective containment of bio-hazards and are designed for easy cleaning and decontamination. With fully adjustable environmental controls, they provide a continuous read-out of temperature, pressure and humidity, and are supplied with an air filtration system which prevents the ingress and egress of odours and both micro-biological and chemical contaminants.

Unlike many alternative systems, Progen isolation cabinets are easily de-mountable for rapid relocation, and have a sturdy design which creates a self-contained, self-supporting enclosure. They therefore eliminate the need for constructing partition walls and help to keep all associated costs and disruption to a minimum.

Cage cleaning stations

Incorporating highly effective internal filters, all Progen cage cleaning stations have been designed to exhibit excellent containment whilst affording easy operator access.

The units maintain a face velocity of over 0.4m/s, which will contain all particles of between 0.2 and 20mc, and possess a pre-filter which will capture particles of 0.5mc and thus protect the main hepa filters. As an additional safeguard, all products within the range feature continuous airflow monitoring and visual displays which will alert the operator should the airflow fall below 0.3m/s.

All electrical systems and switches are isolated from the airstream and the filters are easy to change as a result of a simple clamping mechanism located on the clean side of the filter.

Ventilated downflow tables

Following extensive research, consultation and development, Progen now offers a comprehensive range of fully ventilated downflow work stations which exhibit exceptionally stable airflow characteristics.

Manufactured to the highest possible standard from 316 grade stainless steel, the units are fully welded with a satin polished finish. They have been rigorously tested by an independent commissioning specialist and when they were recently subjected to containment tests as described in BS 7258 for fume cupboards, they surpassed all relevant requirements.

As with other Progen products, customised work stations can be produced on request, and optional fittings can be added as required. These include trigger-operated wash-down showers, macerators, remote control wash-down, self-adjusting lighting and air flow alarms with analogue/digital display.

These ventilated enclosures are normally used in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries to experiment with drug compounds using robotic equipment to ensure the safest conditions for all operatives.
